Find the Floor Dance Collective and DanceWorks Co-Works present works by up-and-coming choreographers Jillian Peever and Shannon Roberts. The Collective is a strong team of artists with the next wave of exciting contemporary dancers including Rhonda Baker, Kiri Figueiredo, Ana Groppler, Emma Kerson, Jolayne Langlois, and co-founder Jillian Peever and established lighting designer William Mackwood.

Robert’s A Way of Seeing, challenges the way we see women in society and brings to light the major struggles women face daily. This duet will show two women in their effort to come to terms with their identity through dynamic and passionate movement.

With “enough guts and passion to melt your heart” (Sharon B. Moore) Peever’s latest work What We Do will magnify the repression and suffering of four women thereby illuminating pain  as a fundamental component of life. Do we avoid pain, or do we allow it to shape us?

The pairing of these two works offers a rich evening of contemporary dance with content and post-show discussion that challenge perceptions and pushes societal ideals.
